A bill authorizing the payment of bounties for the destruction of noxious animals and providing a penalty for the violation thereof,

Recommending the adoption of the following amendments thereto, and the passage of the bill when so amended:

1. Amend by inserting in line 9 of section 2 after the word “dollars” the words "and any person who shall kill a fox shall be entitled to a bounty of one dollar."

2. Amend by striking out of line 10 of section 2 the words "and any person who shall kill a hawk or owl shall be entitled to a bounty of fifty cents."

The question being on the adoption of the proposed amendments made by the committee,

The amendments were adopted and the bill was placed on the order of Third Reading of Bills.

A bill making an appropriation for the erection, construction, furnishing and equipping of new hospital buildings for the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and to provide a tax to meet the same,

With the following amendments thereto, recommending that the amendments be concurred in and that when so amended the bill pass: 1. Amend by striking out of line 2 of section 1 the words "one million" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "three hundred."

2. Amend by inserting in line 3 of section 1 after the word "equipping" the words "one or more units."

3. Amend by striking out of section 1 commencing after the word "eighteen" in line 6 of said section the words "one hundred seventyfive thousand dollars in the year nineteen hundred nineteen; one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars in the year nineteen hundred twenty; one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars in the year nineteen hundred twenty-one; one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars in the year nineteen hundred twenty-two."

4. Amend by inserting in line 3 of section 3 after the word “equipping" the words "one or more units."

5. Amend by striking out of lines 4, 5, 6 and 7 of section 3 the words "a like sum for each of the years, nineteen hundred eighteen, nineteen hundred nineteen, nineteen hundred twenty, nineteen hundred twentyone, and nineteen hundred twenty-two," and inserting in lieu thereof the words "for the year nineteen hundred eighteen, the sum of one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars."

The report was accepted and the committee discharged.

3. Amend by striking out of line 1 of section 2 the words "ten thousand dollars and twenty-two cents" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "ten thousand eight hundred ninety-four dollars."

4. Amend by striking out line 12 of section 2 and inserting in lieu thereof the words "filing case, one hundred twenty-eight dollars.”

5. Amend by striking out line 13 of section 2 and inserting in lieu thereof the words "boiler, eleven hundred fifty dollars; well, eight hundred dollars; changing suction line, three hundred seventy-five dollars; changing distributing mains, four hundred fifty dollars."

6. Amend by inserting after line 15 of section 2 the words "nursery porch, five hundred forty-one dollars."

7. Amend by striking out of lines 2 and 3 of section 4 the words "seventy thousand dollars and twenty-two cents" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "seventy-five thousand eight hundred ninety-four dollars."

8. Amend by striking out of line 4 of section 4 after the word "thousand" the words "one hundred sixty-one.”

Mr. Wagner introduced

House bill No. 536, entitled

A bill to provide for the payment of a tax on fish taken from the waters of Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron and Lake Erie, and the bays and harbors connected therewith within the jurisdiction of this State, and to provide for the method of collection and expenditure of the proceeds from such tax, and to prescribe a penalty for the violation thereof.

The bill was read a first and second time by its title and referred to the Committee on Fish and Fisheries.

Mr. Welsh introduced

A bill to amend section 30 of Act No. 183 of the Public Acts of 1897, approved May 29, 1897, entitled "An act to provide for the appointment and to fix the term of office, duties and compensation of circuit court stenographers in the State of Michigan," the same being section 14496 of the Compiled Laws of 1915.

The bill was read a first and second time by its title and referred to the Committee on Judiciary.
