ing one of their number as chairman and another as secretary, and shall proceed to divide their respective counties into so many assembly districts as they are entitled, respectively, to members of assembly under this act, and shall thereupon make their certificates, respectively, containing a description of each assembly district, specifying the number of each district, and the population thereof according to the last State census. Said certificate shall be signed by a majority of such supervisors respectively, except in the city and county of New York, and in said city and county by a majority of the board of aldermen of said city, and they shall cause duplicate certificates to be filed in the office of the secretary of State and the office of the clerk of their respective counties. 83, ch. 208, 1879.

SEC. 26. In pursuance of section three of chapter two Assembly hundred and eight of the Laws of eighteen hundred and seventy-nine (see next above section), as appears from certificates filed in the office of the secretary of State, the board of aldermen of the city of New York, and the supervisors of such counties as are in said section designated for that purpose have severally divided their respective counties into assembly districts in the manner specified in said section, and that thereby and by said chapter two hundred and eight of eighteen hundred and seventy-nine, the several assembly districts of this State are as follows, viz.:

Albany county has four districts, viz.: The first is the first, second, third and fifteenth wards of the city of Albany, and towns of Berne, Bethlehem, Coeymans, Rensselaerville and Westerlo.

The second is the tenth, eleventh, fourteenth, sixteenth and seventeenth wards of the city of Albany, and towns of Guilderland, Knox and New Scotland.

The third is the fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, twelfth and thirteenth wards of the city of Albany, and southern district of ninth ward.

Allegany county is one district.
Broome county is one district.

Cattaraugus county has two districts, viz.: T is the towns of Allegany, Ashford, Ellicottville, Fa ville, Franklinville, Freedom, Hinsdale, Hum Ischua, Lyndon, Machias, Olean, Portville and shire.

The second is the towns of Carrollton, Conne Coldspring, Dayton, East Otto, Great Valley, Little Valley, Mansfield, Napoli, New Albion, Perrysburgh, Persia, Randolph, South Valley, Sala and Red House.

Cayuga county has two districts, viz.: The first towns of Sterling, Victoria, Ira, Conquest, Cato, 1 Brutus, Sennett, and the first, second, fifth, sixt tenth wards of the city of Auburn, and towns of and Montezuma.

The second is the towns of Aurelius, Owasco, Fl Ledyard, Springport, Scipio, Niles, Venice, M Sempronius, Genoa, Locke, Summer Hill, and the fourth, seventh, eighth and ninth wards of the Auburn.

Chautauqua county has two districts, viz.: Th is Busti, Chautauqua, Clymer, Ellery, French Harmony, Mina, Portland, Ripley, Sherman, St and Westfield.

The second is the towns of Arkwright, Carroll,

Hanover, Kiantone, Poland, Pomfret, Sheridaı
Villenova.

Chemung county is one district.
Chenango county is one district.
Clinton county is one district.
Columbia county is one district.
Cortland county is one district.
Delaware county is one district.

Dutchess county has two districts, viz.: The the towns of Amenia, Beekman, Dover, East Fi

Fishkill, La Grange, Northeast, Pawlings, Pine Plains, Stanford, Union Vale, Washington and Wappingers.

The second is the towns of Clinton, Hyde Park, Milan, Pleasant Valley, Poughkeepsie, city of Poughkeepsie, Red Hook and Rhinebeck.

Erie county has five districts, viz.: The first is the first, second, third, eighth and thirteenth wards of the city of Buffalo.

The second is the fourth, fifth and sixth wards of the city of Buffalo.

The third is the seventh, ninth, tenth and eleventh wards of the city of Buffalo.

The fourth is the towns of Alden, Amherst, Chictawauga, Clarence, Grand Island, Lancaster, Marilla, Newstead, Tonawanda, Wales and twelfth ward of the city of Buffalo.

The fifth is the towns of Aurora, Boston, Brandt, Colden, Collins, Concord, East Hamburg, Eden, Evans, Hamburgh, Holland, North Collins, Sardinia, Elma and West Seneca.

Essex county is one district.
Franklin county is one district.

Fulton and Hamilton counties are one district.
Genesee county is one district.
Greene county is one district.
Herkimer county is one district.

Jefferson county has two districts, viz.: The first is the towns of Adams, Champion, Ellisburgh, Henderson, Hounsfield, Lorraine, Rodman, Rutland, Wilna, Worth, Watertown and first and second wards of the city of Watertown.

The second is the towns of Alexandria, Antwerp, Brownville, Clayton, Cape Vincent, Le Ray, Lyme, Orleans, Pamelia, Philadelphia, Theresa and third and fourth wards of the city of Watertown.

Kings county has twelve districts, viz.: The first is the first and sixth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The second is the second and fourth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The third is the third and tenth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The fourth is the fifth and eleventh wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The fifth is the twelfth ward of the city of Brooklyn. The sixth is the fourteenth and fifteenth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The seventh is the sixteenth ward of the city of Brooklyn.

The eighth is the seventeenth and eighteenth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The ninth is the thirteenth, nineteenth and twentieth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The tenth is the eighth, ninth and twenty-second wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The eleventh is the seventh, twenty-first, twenty-third and twenty-fourth wards of the city of Brooklyn.

The twelfth is the towns of New Utrecht, Flatbush, New Lots, Gravesend and Flatlands, and the twentyfifth ward of the city of Brooklyn.

Lewis county is one district.
Livingston county is one district.

Madison county is one district.

Monroe county has three districts, viz.: The first is the towns of Brighton, Henrietta, Irondequoit, Mendon, Penfield, Perrinton, Pittsford, Rush and Webster. The second is the city of Rochester.

The third is the towns of Chili, Clarkson, Gates, Greece, Ogden, Parma, Riga, Sweden, Hamlin and Wheatland.

Montgomery county is one district.

New York city and county has twenty-four districts, viz. The first is all that part of the city bounded by the North and East rivers, and lying within Peck slip, Ferry street, Gold street, Spruce street, Park row, Broadway and Canal street, and including Governor's, Bedloe's and Ellis' islands.

The second is all that part of the city lying within Canal street, Broadway, Park row, Spruce street, Gold

street, Ferry street, Peck slip, East river, Catharine street and the Bowery.

The third is all that part of the city lying within Canal street, Broadway, Twenty-third street, Third avenue and the Bowery.

The fourth is all that part of the city lying within Catharine street, Division street, Grand street, Jackson street and East river.

The fifth is all that part of the city lying within Canal street, Broadway, Bleecker street, Hancock street (or Cottage place), West Houston street and North river.

The sixth is all that part of the city lying within Division street, Grand street, Jackson street, East river, Stanton street, Clinton street, Rivington street and Norfolk street.

The seventh is all that part of the city lying within Broadway, West Twenty-third street, Seventh avenue, West Sixteenth street, Eighth avenue, West Fourth street, West Washington place, Sixth avenue, Carmine street and Bleecker street.

The eighth is all that part of the city lying within the Bowery, Stanton street, Clinton street, Rivington street, Norfolk street and Division street.

The ninth is all that part of the city lying within West Houston street, Hancock street (or Cottage place), Bleecker street, Carmine street, Sixth avenue, West Washington place, West Fourth street, Eighth avenue, West Sixteenth street and North river.

The tenth is all that part of the city lying within the Bowery, Third avenue, Eighth street (or St. Mark's place), Avenue A, Seventh street, Avenue B, Clinton street and Stanton street.

The eleventh is all that part of the city lying within East and West Twenty-third streets, Lexington avenue, East and West Fortieth streets, Seventh avenue, West Twenty-fifth street and Sixth avenue.

The twelfth is all that part of the city lying within Stanton street, Clinton street, Avenue B, East Eleventh street and East river.
