INTRODUCTION.

THE following summary of scriptural doctrines, is designed to give settled and correct views upon several subjects relating to the spiritual world, which suggest themselves more especially to those whose minds are directed to the researches of ancient literature. The relations of mankind with the world of spiritual things, before the manifestation of our Lord in the flesh, is shewn by St. Paul to have undergone that change, which the exaltation of the human nature by the High Communion then proposed, demanded and the Scriptures relating to this

:

point are brought together, and arranged to

give explanation to each other. A plain ana

lysis of the doctrines of the law of nature, or that sustaining "Word of God's Power", by which the universe of His created works is upheld, is also presented; and the "Counsel" of God in the subjecting of the first man to a state of probation, shewn to be consistent with, and necessary to, the co-ordinate decree of his future exaltation, in the everlasting Son of the Father.
