In closing this report the Board desire to say that the assistance rendered to them by Mr. Richard F. Stevens, the expert accountant employed by them to examine the books and papers of the Morris and Essex Railroad Company, and by Mr. E. W. Harrison, the engineer employed by them to make the examination of the company's railroad and appendages, has been of the greatest value to the Board. The work of each of these gentlemen has been done with great thoroughness, and it gives the Board pleasure to say that it has been performed with unusual skill and ability. Respectfully submitted, EDWARD BETTLE, State Board of Assessors. |
