OFFICE OF THE BROOKLYN CENTRAL AND JAMAICA) HON. ROBERT H. SHEARMAN, Deputy State Engineer and Surveyor, Albany : Your circular addressed to the Brooklyn Central and Jamaica Railroad Company, under date of the 14th inst., has been received. In reply thereto I beg to state that the Brooklyn Central and Jamaica Railroad was sold under a foreclosure of the fourth mortgage on the 7th of August, and 13th of September last, and as yet no organization has been perfected under such sale, and having but recently assumed the management of the road, I am not prepared to make a report of its operations for the year ending the 30th of September last, as required by law. Hoping that this will be a satisfactory explanation for not making such report, I remain Respectfully your obedient servant, A. H. LOWERRE, Managing Agent for the Purchaser. |
