The following is a statement of the date of each accident, the place where it occurred, the train, the cause and the extent of the injuries inflicted upon each person, and the name of such person, as follows: 1865. January 21. John Murphy, an employee, injured at Dunkirk, by No. 5 freight; leg taken off. He died at North Evans. July 6. Mike Leehan, injured at Dunkirk, by being pulled off the train by an intoxicated man. He hung on the car and was dragged some distance; was injured internally, and died within a few hours. February 18. P. McNulty, employee, killed at Dunkirk. He was crushed between a building and the switching engine. April 11. George Gray, employee, fell from top of cars while in motion at Erie; the wheels passed over his legs, and he died about eight hours afterwards. April 15. John Byron, killed near Irving. He was walking by side of track when the train hit him, and he lived but a few moments. September 14. George Peters, an Indian, was killed near North Evans.
