66 FEAR THOU NOT, FOR I AM WITH THEE.

N this support my soul shall lean,
And banish every care;

The gloomy vale of death must smile,
If God be with me there.

N

NOTHING in my hand I bring,
Simply to the cross I cling.

HE feeds and clothes us all the way,
And guides our footsteps lest we stray,
He guards us with a powerful hand,
And brings us to the heavenly land.

W

HY flow these torrents of distress?

The gentle Saviour cries;

Why are my sleeping saints surveyed
With unbelieving eyes?

Death's feeble arm shall never boast
A friend of Christ is slain;
Nor, o'er their meaner part in dust,
A lasting power retain.

HE Lord is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.

JN

T

HE love of Jesus, here below,

Can heighten joys and sweeten woe;
And e'en though sorrow hush my voice,
My soul in him shall still rejoice.

ESUS, thou joy of loving hearts!
Thou fount of life! thou light of men!
From the best bliss that earth imparts,
We turn unfilled to thee again.
Thy truth unchanged hath ever stood,
Thou savest those that on thee call;
To them that seek thee, thou art good-
To them that find thee, all in all!

NTO thine hand I commit my spirit: Thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth.

PSALM XXXi. 5.

MY days are all vanished away,
Broke off the designs of my heart,

No longer on earth I delay,

Or linger as loth to depart;

Resolved in my Lord to abide,

This purpose I know shall remain,
And trust to be found at his side,
And Jesus eternally gain.

C. WESLEY.

SHALL behold the face

Of my forgiving God,

And stand complete in righteousness,
Wash'd in my Saviour's blood.

WATTS.

EHOVAH knows how weak we are,

JE

And makes our feeble life his care;
Strength he proportions to the day,
Remembering we are but clay.

HRIST is to me as life,

And death to me is gain,
Because I trust in him alone,
Salvation to obtain.

N

OR death nor hell shall e'er remove

His favourites from his breast;

In the dear bosom of his love,

They must for ever rest.

WATTS.

FOR ever with the Lord!

Amen, so let it be;

Life from the dead is in that word,

'Tis immortality.

R

HOW sovereign, wonderful, and free,

H

Is all his love to sinful me;

He plucked me as a brand from hell,
My Jesus hath done all things well.

EDEEMED with the precious blood of Christ.

IS grace, and grace alone,
Has saved, and yet will save;
'Tis grace will raise us to a throne,
Will raise us from the grave.

HRO' waves, and clouds, and storms,
His power will clear the way;
Wait then his time.—the darkest night
Shall end in brightest day.

MY eyes shall see my Redeemer.

HE victor's crown thou hast for me
Is only thine-for me unmeet;

And I will only take it, Lord,

To lay it at my Saviour's feet.

HRIST will gather in his own,
To the place where he is gone;
Where their life and treasure lie,
Where our life is hid on high.

UST as I am, without one plea, But that thy blood was shed for me, And that thou bid'st me come to thee, O! Lamb of God, I come!

BY long experience have I known

Thy sovereign power to save;
At thy command I venture down
Securely to the grave.

HY saints are in thy faithful hand,

TH

Secure beneath thine eye;

And, safe at last, they all shall stand
Before thy throne on high.

INTO

NTO thy hands, O God of truth,
My spirit I commit;

Thou hast redeemed my soul from death,

And saved me from the pit.
