STATE AGRICULTURAL ROOMS,

Columbus, O., January 24th, 1860.

Members all present. Delegations from Cleveland, Zanesville, Columbus and Dayton were present, with proposals for holding the next State Fair at their respective cities; each delegation presented a guarantee of $5,000, and the use of grounds free of charge.

At 10 o'clock A. M., the Board proceeded to revise the Premium List. The hour of 2 P. M. was agreed upon to hear the propositions and claims of the sev eral competing cities for the Fair of 1860.

Recess.

At 2 o'clock the Agricultural Rooms were crowded, and the greater portion of the afternoon consumed in receiving the propositions and listening to the claims

of the delegates from the several cities. The Board deferred making a decision as to locality until the evening session. Premium List resumed.

The Corresponding Secretary suggested the propriety of discontinuing the practice of issuing exhibiters' and attendants' tickets at State Fairs. It was impossible to guard against abuse of the system. The Secretary expressed his conviction that hundreds of individuals were admitted on the same ticket in the course of the Fair. As a substitute, he suggested the system introduced by the New York State Board, and adopted by the Michigan State Society, as effectually preventing fraudulent practices.

On motion of Mr. Millikin, it was

Resolved, That the entrance fee, for the exhibition of articles at the State Fair remain unchanged, but that the Corresponding Secretary be instructed to issue four single admission tickets for every dollar of fees paid, instead of the usual exhibiter's ticket.

S. D. Harris submitted the following:
