rows of scolloped blonde, the border of the robe ornamented with roses appliqué, the upper part of the corsage gorgeously ornamented with raised embroidery, imitating the natural appearance of the flowers in size and color, and standing out in relief, with a lace ruche border. Sleeves ruched in the upper part and full to the wrist. The coiffure ornamented with bouquets and long lappets edged with blonde.

FIGURE 4.-WALKING DRESS.-Satin striped redingote, with velvet lappet backed out in the style of a riding habit, closed down the front by nœuds. Sleeve moderately tight at the shoulders, with a frilling of the same, full but slightly graduated towards the wrist, a bias piece ornaments the lower part.

Hats and drawn bonnets of gros de Naples and satin, with flowers and ornaments of the same material as the bonnet, lace edging, &c.

Crape caps with blond edging and watered satin ribbons.

FIGURE 1.-CARRIAGE DRESS,-Tulle dress, crossed in front of the corsage, which is elevated on the shoulder and is ornamented to the ceinture with a scol loped edging, laid on rather full; it descends from this downwards to within half way to the hem and turns, figuring the tunic style, a couple of flounces of the same, equidistant, traverse the lower part of the skirt, running parallel with the hem. The bonnet of Italian straw is ornamented with a small rouleau round the border, gathered rather full.

FIGURE 2.-WALKING DRESS.-Mousseline de laine dress, Pelerine with a border of the same put on very full, the ends reaching nearly to the bottom of the dress.

FIGURE 3.—OPERA DRESS.-Crape dress made low in the neck. and having a figured blond edging, wide and full in the skirt, the mantelet of velvet having a wadded satin border, the front united by two nonds, and having one attached to the point which terminates in long ends. Short sleeve with lace ruffle. Opera caliche.

FIGURE 4.-WALKING DRESS.-Mousseliue de laine dress. turned up in the corsage in the mantilla form, and edged with blond, the ceinture of crape, wide and full, end in a nœud with pendant ends, the part of the skirt just above the flounce ornamented with embroidery forming garlands, the flounce full, embroidered also, and edged with blond. Sleeves full from the wrist to the mid arm, where a frilling is placed with a very narnow bordering of blond.

Rice straw hats with bouquets.

Bonnets of tuscan and gros de Tour with feathers, garlands, lace wreath, and tulle rouleau. with bouillon of the same. and ribbon bows.

FIGURE 1. PROMENADE DRESS..-Levantine redingote, the pattern formed of delicate bouquets ascending high in the neck, crossed in front in the middle of the bust and edged with a goffered net fall round the neck which continues down the extent of the skirt. Sleeves plain and tight in the upper part, with a couple of vandyked frillings, fall from this part to the wristband, which extends several inches from the hand. The ceinture is embroidered and ties into a nœud in front, the ends of which hang down at equal distances. Drawn bonnet of gros de Tour having a high crown and nœuds. redingote, open in front, turned over the front of the bust with worked lace. The sleeves adorned with two falls of rich black lace laid on full. The crape hat similarly ornamented has also the addition of satin ribbons.

FIGURE 3.-WALKING DRESS.-Muslin dress, corsage made high up the neck edged with narrow blond, a mantilla fall proceeds in an oblique direction down both the back and front, forming a V. Rice straw hat with bouquets.

FIGURE 4.-PROMENADE DRESS.-Crape dress, the corsage made high and close-fitting, pointed at the ceinture. Sleeves gathered close to the shoulder, having a frilling high up. A fichu edged with blond is crossed over the front of the neck. The skirt is trimmed in the tunic style, and a deep flounce reaches to the underneath part of this, which forms with it a double flounce. A tulle bonnet, without trimming, having a long feather. Hats and Bonnets of gros de Naples and crape. PLATE IV.

FIGURE 2.-WALKING DRES3. Challi dress.—Elizabethan pointed corsage with lace edging round the ceinture continuing down the front of the skirt as a bordering to the tablier ornament.
