LETTER OF TRANSMITTAL

DEPARTMENT OF THE CORPORATION COMMISSION,

His Excellency, T. W. BICKETT,

Raleigh, N. C.

SIR: We have the honor to submit herewith report of the Corporation Commission for the year ending December 31, 1920.

Respectfully submitted,

DECISIONS AND ADJUSTMENT OF COMPLAINTS

SUNCREST LUMBER COMPANY, ET. AL., v. TENNESSEE AND NORTH CAROLINA RAILROAD COMPANY.

ORDER.

This complaint being made informally and submitted by mail to defendants, shows that the Tennessee and North Carolina Railroad Company has discontinued Sunday train service between Sunburst, N. C., and Canton, N. C.; that this service was a great accommodation to laborers and employees of a manufacturing industry operated by the Suncrest Lumber Company at Sunburst, N. C., and living at points on the Murphy Branch of the Southern Railway; that the discontinuance of this service causes such employees to lose a whole day's work on Monday in order to reach their place of employment; and it being the opinion of the Commission that this service should be rendered to the general public; it is, therefore

ORDERED, That the Tennessee and North Carolina Railroad Company operate Sunday service for passengers over their line, leaving Sunburst in time to make connection with train Number 17 on the Southern Railway going west, passing Canton about 9:40 a. m., and leaving Canton after arrival of train Number 16, on the Southern Railway, going east; this service to be in addition to the passenger train service now operated by the said Tennessee and North Carolina Railroad Company, and to begin on Sunday, February 23, 1919.

This, February 16, 1919.
