NUMBER OF PERSONS reported, during the Months of January, February, and March 1880, as KILLED or INJURED on the Railways of the UNITED KINGDOM, distinguishing between PASSENGERS, SERVANTS of the COMPANIES or of CONTRACTORS, and OTHER PERSONS; and distinguishing also in the case of the Two former Classes between ACCIDENTS caused by ACCIDENTS to TRAINS, ROLLING-STOCK, PERMANENT-WAY, &c., and ACCIDENTS happening otherwise. N.B.-The Board of Trade state the cause of accident as returned by the Companies, but do not guarantee or otherwise adopt the statement, except in cases where an official inquiry has been held. TABLE No. 2.
