Ma-ry had a pret-ty bird,

With feath-ers bright and yel-low;
And you may be-lieve my word,
He was a pret-ty fel-low.

The sweet-est notes he al-ways sung,
Which much de-light-ed Ma-ry;

And of-ten, where the cage was hung,
She stood to hear Ca-na-ry.
