RIDAY, the "sweeping-day," throughout the realm of the orderly housewives has of old

been under the auspices of that goddess of love who was all grace, beauty and purity, Frigga the Venus of the Norse mythology. These three attributes belong to the Love that is divine and where any one is missing, it must be supplied that the expression of love on the earth may be perfect-grace that is the heighth of unselfishness, beauty, the natural radiance of love and purity, the unalloyed freedom of true hearts.

Early on Friday morning every thing is astir for a good sweeping and dusting. The windows are thrown open, as indeed they are every morning, and as the fresh, sweet billows of new-day sunshine and air roll in, we remember why we love and embrace them so. It means our union with our world, our enlarging the areas of our earth-consciousness.

The reason why we love the great out-doors so much, flinging aside draperies and swinging our casements wide open, is because it represents the Spirit's universality, rising above selfish interests and breaking forth into joy in the life of the whole.
