CHAPTER 27.

AN ACT to dedicate to the use of the German Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lincoln, lot number 11 in block No. 125, city of Lincoln,Lancaster county, state of Nebraska.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska.

SECTION 1. That lot numbered eleven (11) Dedication. in block numbered one hundred and twentyfive (125) in the city of Lincoln in Lancaster county, state of Nebraska, be and the same is hereby sold for the sun of five hundred dollars and the board of public lands and buildings instructed to convey by proper conveyance to the use of the "German Evangelical Lutheran Church" of the said city of Lincoln;

Provided, Said church shall occupy said lot for the purpose of maintaining a place of public worship according to the discipline established by said church;

Provided further, That upon the said church Failing to failing to maintain said place on said land as a place of public worship as aforesaid, said land shall revert to the state and be disposed of in

the manner provided by law.

SEC. 2. All acts and parts of acts in conflict Repealing with this act are hereby repealed.

CHAPTER 28.

Changing

name.

Property and power.

AN ACT changing the name of the First Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln, to that of St. Paul Methodist church of the city of Lincoln.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

SECTION 1. That the name of the society heretofore known as the First Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln is hereby changed to and shall hereafter be known by the name of the St. Paul Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln.

SEC. 2. That all real and personal property heretofore acquired by the said society in the name of the First Methodist Episcopal church of Lincoln, by purchase, gift, grant, or otherwise, including lots 10, 11 and 12, of block 67, of the city of Lincoln granted to the said society by the state of Nebraska, subject to any incumbrance or liabilities heretofore created thereon, shall pass to and hereafter be held and enjoyed by the said society in the name of the St. Panl Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln with full power to encumber, convey and dispose of the same in the same manner and to the same extent as if the name of ssid society had not been changed; Provided; That said St. Paul Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln, shall assume all obligations and be subject to all contracts heretofore made and entered into by

said society in the name of the First Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln. All suits by or against said society, whether arising out of obligations or contracts heretofore or hereafter made and entered into by what name or character soever, shall run and be brought in the name of the St. Paul Methodist Episcopal church of the city of Lincoln. SEC. 3. All acts and parts of acts inconsist- Repealing ent herewith are hereby repealed.

SEC. 4. Whereas an emergency exists, this Emergency act shall take effect and be in force from and

after its passage.

CHAPTER 29.

AN ACT supplemental to "An act to authorize the election of church wardens and vestrymen of the Protestant Episcopal Church, and defining their powers and duties," approved January 9th, 1862, and to provide for a church incorporated under said act to become a cathedral.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska:

the cathedral of the diocese in which the same is situate and providing for changes in the corporate name and in the style and title of the corporate authorities and in the persons and officers who shall compose the said corporate authorities, and the rights, powers, and duties and dignities in the said cathedral to be held by, the clergy thereof other than the bishop, as may seem expedient, and for a more close organic and legal connection between such cathedral and the corporate authorities and officers thereof, and the cathedral chapter of the diocese of Nebraska.

SEC. 2. Such articles when adopted shall be certified and acknowledged by the president and clerk of said vestry, and recorded in the book of incorporations in the office of the clerk of the county in which such church is situate, and thereupon the same shall go into effect and the said articles together with the act to which this is a supplement, modified by said articles and the original proceedings had for the incorporation of such church shall constitute and be its charter and organic law.

SEC. 3. This act shall not effect any privileges, rights, or immunities, or any debts, liabilities or obligations of such corporations, and actions now pending shall be prosecuted and all unsatisfied judgments, liens and demands may be enforced, and all the property now or hereafter owned or held by such cathedral shall be liable for and be subject to all debts, demands, claims, liens, judgments, and executions in the same manner and with the same effect as if this act had not been passed.

SEC. 4. There being an emergency for the Emergency taking effect of this act, this act shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage. Approved, March 4th, A. D. 1885.

CHAPTER 30.

AN ACT to amend an act entitled "An act incorporating
subordinate lodges of Masons, Odd Fellows and Good
Templars," approved February 9th, 1869, and providing for
the incorporation of the Department and Posts of the
Grand Army of the Republic, Bohemian Benevolent So-
ciety, C. S. P. S.," in Nebraska.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Nebraska.

SECTION 1. All organizations known as subordinate lodges of the order of Ancient, Free and Accepted Masons, all organizations known as subordinate lodges of the independent order of Odd Fellows, all organizations known as Good Templars lodges, which have been or may hereafter be regularly chartered by the respective grand lodges of the said several orders in the State of Nebraska, and also the organization known as the Grand Army of the Republic, Department of Nebraska, together with such posts of said Grand Army of the Republic within this state as have been or may here
