JANUARY 13, 1842. ORDERED, That six hundred copies of the Rules and Orders, together with the Constitution of the United States, and of this State, with the amendments; the names of the members of the House, and the number of their seats, and their boarding places; the names of the members of the Senate; of the several officers of each House ; of the Governor and Council, and of the officers of the several Departments of the State Government; with a list of the Standing Committees of each House, and of the Joint Standing Committees; with the Census of this State in 1830 and 1840; be printed for the use of the House.

OF THE

UNITED STATES.

We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this constitution for the United States of America.

ARTICLE I.

SECTION I. 1. All legislative powers herein granted shall be vested in a congress of the United States, which shall consist of a senate and house of representatives.

SECTION II. 1. The house of representatives shall be composed of members chosen every second year by the people of the several states; and the electors in each state shall have the qualifications requisite for electors of the most numerous branch of the state legislature.

2. No person shall be a representative, who shall not
