Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Underhill, Veale, Wiley and Wood. Prayer by the Rev. Mr. Fisher. Journal of yesterday read and approved. On motion of Senator Wood, N. Green, Lieutenant Governor elect, was invited to a seat within the bar of the Senate. On motion of Senator Riggs, The Senate proceeded to effect a permanent organization by the election of officers. Senator Cooper nominated Senator Scott, of Allen county, as President pro tem. Upon which the roll was called with the following result: Senators voting for Mr. Scott were: Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Sharp, Simpson, Underhill, Veale, Wiley, Wood. Senator Coo received a majority of all the votes lected President pro tem. nominated Alex. R. Banks, of Douglas county, for Secretary of the Senate. Upon which the roll was called with the following result: Senators voting for Mr. Banks were Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Underhill, Veale, Wiley, Wood. A. R. Banks having received a majority of all the votes cast, was declared duly elected Secretary of the Senate. On motion of Senator Emmert, The oath of office was administered to the Secretary. Upon which the roll was called with the following result: Senators voting for Mr. Speck were: Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Underhill, Veale, Wiley, Wood. Joseph Speck having received a majority of all the votes cast, was declared duly elected Assistant Secretary. The election of Journal Clerk being next in order, Senator Cooper nominated M. R. Dutton, of Jefferson county, for Journal Clerk, Upon which the roll was called with the following result : Yeas, 24; nays, none. Senators voting for Mr. Dutton were : Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Underli, Veale, Wiley, Wood. M. R. Dutton having received a majority of all the votes cast, was declared duly elected Journal Clerk. 1.. Senator Cooper nominated W. F. Goble, of Leavenworth county, for Docket Clerk, Upon which the roll was called with the following result: Senators voting for Mr. Goble were: Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Unde:hill, Veale, Wiley, Wood. W. F. Goble having received a majority of all the votes cast, was declared duly elected Docket Clerk. Senator Cooper nominated G. B. Holmes, of Shawnee county, for Enrolling Clerk, Upon which the roll was called with the following result: Senators voting for Mr. Holmes were: La Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lor Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Under 1, Veale, Wiley, Wood. G. B. Holmes having received a majority at all, the votes cast, was declared duly elected Engrossing Cle Senator Cooper nominated Alfred J. Simpson, of Allen county, for Engrossing Clerk, Upon which, the roll was called with the Jowing result: Yeas, 24; nays, none. Senators voting for Mr. Simpson were: Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Underhill, Veale, Wiley, Wood. Alfred J. Simpson having received a majority of all the votes cast, was declared duly elected Engrossing Clerk. Senator Cooper nominated D. L. Payne, of Doniphan county, for Sergeant-at-Arms. Upon which the roll was called with the following result: Senators voting for Mr. Payne were: Abbott, Blakely, Clarke, Cooper, Dodge, Emmert, Fisher, Foster, Graham, Green, Haas, Harvey, Lowe, Maxon, Price, Riggs, Rogers, Scott, Sharp, Simpson, Underhill, Veale, Wiley, Wood. D. L. Payne having received a majority of all the votes east, was declared duly elected Sergeant-at-Arms. The election of Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms being next in order, Senator Cooper nominated John Drew, of county, for Assistant Sergeant-at-Arms.
