Senate Bill No. 136 (file No. 99)-

A bill to provide for the disposition of property abandoned by owner for seven years,

With the recommendation that the following amendment be adopted and that the bill then pass:

1. Amend by striking out of lines 8 and 9 of section 10 the words "bond in a penal sum twice the value of the property distributed or assigned with a surety or sureties" and inserting in lieu thereof the words "surety company bond in a penal sum not less than the value of the property distributed or assigned and for such additional amount as the court may prescribe".

Senate Bill No. 17 (file No. 19)—

A bill to provide that the entering of dwellings, etc., without the consent of the person in charge shall be deemed a misdemeanor,

With the recommendation that the following amendment be adopted and that the bill then pass:

1. Amend section 1 so as to read as follows:

"Section 1. Every person who shall break and enter, or shall enter without breaking, any dwelling house, cottage, club house, boat house, hunting or fishing lodge, garage or the outbuildings belonging thereto, of another, whether occupied or unoccupied, without first obtaining permission to enter from said owner or occupant, agent, or person having immediate control thereof, or any law enforcing officer, shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction thereof shall be punished by a fine of not more than one hundred dollars or by imprisonment in the county jail or the Detroit House of Correction for a period not exceeding ninety days or by both such fine and imprisonment in the discretion of the court."

The Committee on Transportation, by Mr. Roxburgh, Chairman, reported
Senate Bill No. 146 (file No. 109)—

A bill to amend Act No. 300, Public Acts of 1909, and to repeal Act No. 136, Public Acts of 1897-to provide that the Michigan Public Utilities Commission shall have supervisory control of signals at railroad crossings, etc.,

With the recommendation that the following amendments be adopted and that the bill then pass:

1. Amend by adding to line 27 of section 35, after the word "just" the words "Provided, however, That the cost to the public shall not exceed twenty-five per cent of the total cost of the said placing, installing and maintaining such crossing protection."

2. Amend by striking out of line 46 of section 35, the word "red" each time it

occurs.

3. Amend by inserting in line 58 of section 35, after the word "knowingly" the words "disregard or".

Senate Bill No. 85 (file No. 47)

A bill to amend Act No. 128, Public Acts of 1887-to provide for an elapse of five days between the application and issuing of marriage licenses,

With the recommendation that the following amendments be adopted and that the bill then pass:

1. Amend by inserting in line 6 of section 1 after the word "amended" the words "and a new section is hereby added to stand as section 3 A, said amended section and new section".

2. Amend by adding a new section after section 3, to stand as section 3 A, and to read as follows:

"Section 3 A. No license to marry shall be delivered within a period of five days immediately following the date of application therefor, Provided, however, That the judge of probate of each county, for good and sufficient cause shown, may by an order in writing signed by him, authorize the county clerk to deliver such license immediately following the application therefor."

The question being on the adoption of the amendments to the bill recommended by the committee,

The committee further recommended that the bill be known as the "QuinlanDarin Bill".
