Messages were received from the Governor informing the House of Representatives that on Wednesday, April 8, he had approved and deposited in the office of the Secretary of State

An act to provide for the cancellation of taxes for the years 1916 to 1923, inclusive, on certain Presque Isle county lands.

House Enrolled Act No. 19 (House Bill No. 163, file No. 46)—

An act to amend Act No. 181, Public Acts of 1919-to regulate the importation of tuberculous cattle.

Messages were received from the Governor informing the House of Representatives that on Thursday, April 9, he had approved and deposited in the office of the Secretary of State

An act to authorize rural agricultural school districts to borrow money and issue bonds therefor.

The bill was received from the Senate on Friday, April 10, with certain amendments made by the Senate, consideration of which was postponed until today under the rules.

A message was received from the Senate requesting the return to the Senate of Senate Bill No. 195 (file No. 191) —

A bill to amend section 122 of chapter 2 of Act No. 314 of the Public Acts of 1915, "The Judicature Act of 1915," being section 12191 of the Compiled Laws of 1915.

Mr. MacDonald moved that the Committee of the Whole be discharged from the further consideration of the bill.

The motion prevailed.

Mr. MacDonald then moved that the bill be returned to the Senate in accordance with the request of the Senate therefor.

A message was received from the Senate transmitting
Senate Bill No. 281 (file No. 284), entitled

A bill to authorize any incorporated village, which may be the county seat of any county in this State, to borrow money, and issue bonds therefor, for the purpose of buying or building a courthouse or jail or both for said county in such village, upon approval of the electors of said village.

The message informed the House of Representatives that the Senate had passed the bill.

The bill was read a first and second time by its title and referred to the Committee on Towns and Counties.

Messrs. Lawson, O'Beirne and Palmer entered the House and took their seats.

A bill for the protection and preservation of fish in a stream used for the development of water power or hydro-electric energy.

Mr. MacDonald moved that the hour of the meeting of the House on Tuesday, April 14, be fixed at 10 o'clock a. m.

A bill to fix maximum hours of service in certain industries.

Senate Bill No. 197 (file No. 206)—

A bill to prescribe the powers and duties of the Director of Conservation in connection with the enforcement of the game and fish laws.

The bill was read a third time on April 10 and, pending the vote on its passage, was laid on the table.

The motion to take the bill from the table then prevailed.

Mr. Ming moved to reconsider the vote by which the House on Friday, April 10, adopted the following amendment: Amend by striking out of line 7 of section 2 the word "said" and lines 8 to 15 inclusive, down to and including the word "cases".
