26.

THE Lord is good to all: and His

works.

tender mercies are

over all His Ps. cxlv. 9.

In busy mart and crowded street,
No less than in the still retreat,

Thou, Lord, art near, our souls to bless
With all a parent's tenderness!

And every moment still doth bring

Thy blessings on its loaded wing;

Widely they spread through earth and sky,
And last to all eternity.

27.

UNDER His wings shalt thou trust.

Ps. xci. 4.

Pilgrims here on earth, and strangers,
Dwelling in the midst of foes,

Us and ours preserve from dangers,
In Thy love may we repose;

And when life's sad day is past
Rest with Thee in Heaven at last.

28.

THAT I may daily perform my vows.

Only, O Lord, in Thy dear love
Fit us for perfect rest above;
And help us, this and ev'ry day,
To live more nearly as we pray.

Ps. lxi. 8,

OME hither, I will show thee the
bride, the Lamb's wife.

The Lamb's Apostles there
I might with joy behold,
The harpers I might hear
Harping on harps of gold.
O happy place!

When shall I be,

My God, with Thee,
To see Thy face?

There, too, the martyr band

Rev. xxi. 9.

Who life in death have found,
Near to the King they stand,
Their scars with glory crown'd.
O happy place!

When shall I be,

My God, with Thee,
To see Thy face?

St. Andrew's Day.

ATHER, I will that they also, whom
Thou hast given Me, be with Me
St. John xvii. 24.

where I am.

That so, before the judgment-seat,

Though changed and glorified each face,

Not unremember'd we may meet

For endless ages to embrace.

HEY shall see the Son of Man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. St. Matt. xxiv. 30.

Lo! He comes! with clouds descending,

Once for favour'd sinners slain :

Thousand thousand saints attending

Swell the triumph of His train:
Hallelujah!

Hallelujah! Amen.

'HE trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. I Cor. xv. 52.

Guard us waking, guard us sleeping;

And when we die,

May we, in Thy mighty keeping,

All peaceful lie!

When the last dread call shall wake us,

Do not Thou, our God, forsake us,

But to reign in glory take us,

With Thee on high.

3.

ORD, who shall dwell in Thy tabernacle or who shall rest upon Thy holy hill? Even he, that leadeth an uncorrupt life and doeth the thing which is right, and speaketh the truth from his heart.

:

May we, in this our trial day,

Ps. xv. I, 2.

With faithful hearts Thy word obey,
And thus prepare to meet Thee.

4.

OVEST thou Me?

St. John xxi. 15.

Would'st thou go forth to bless, be sure of thine own ground,

Fix well thy centre first, then draw thy circles round.

5.

No O man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God. St. Luke ix. 62.

O Lord, Thou knowest all the snares

That round our pathway be,

Thou know'st that both our joys and cares
Come between us and Thee;

I

Thou know'st that our infirmity,
In Thee alone is strong,
To Thee for help and strength we fly;
O let us not go wrong!

6.

AM the vine, ye are the branches.

St. John xv. 5.

O holy Saviour, Friend unseen,

The faint, the weak, on Thee may lean:
Help me, throughout life's varying scene,
By faith to cling to Thee!

Blest with communion so Divine,
Take what Thou wilt, shall I repine,
When, as the branches to the vine,
My soul may cling to Thee?

HINE eyes shall see the King in His beauty they shall behold the land that is very far off. Isa. xxxiii. 17.

My knowledge of that life is small;
The eye of faith is dim;

But it's enough that Christ knows all,
And I shall be with Him.
