fore thee, and shall say', Destroy them`. Even from everlasting` to everlasting thou art God'. Jer. xxxi. 3, The Lord hath appeared of old unto me, saying, Yea, I have loved thee with an everlasting love'; therefore with loving-kindness have I drawn thee. Heb. ix. 14, How much more shall the blood of Christ', who through the eternal Spirit`, offered himself without spot to God', purge your conscience from dead works, to serve the living God?

3. Almighty.-Gen. xvii. 1, The Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him', I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. Job xlii. 2, I know that thou canst do every thing', and that no thought can be withholden from thee. Mark x. 27, And Jesus, looking upon them, saith, With men it is impossible', but not with God'; for with God all things are possible. Rev. xix. 1, 6, And after these things I heard a great voice of much people in heaven', saying, Alleluia; Salvation', and glory, and honour', and power', unto the Lord our God: Alleluia: for the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth'.

4. Wise.-Ps. civ. 24, O Lord, how manifold are thy works' in wisdom' thou hast made them all` : the earth is full of thy riches. Ps. cxlvii. 5, Great is our Lord', and of great power: his understanding is infinite. Isa. xl. 28, Hast thou not known'? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God', the

Lord', the Creator of the ends of the earth', fainteth not, neither is weary'? there is no searching of his understanding. Rom. xi. 33, O the depth of the riches' both of the wisdom' and knowledge of God? how unsearchable' are his judgments', and his ways' past finding out! Jude 25, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory' and majesty`, dominion` and power', both now' and ever`. Amen'.

5. Just.-Deut. xxxii. 4, He is the Rock, his work is perfect'; for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth' and without iniquity'; just and right' is he. Ps. lxxxix. 14, Justice and judgment' are the habitation of thy throne`: mercy and truth' shall go before thy face. Isa. xlv. 21, There is no God else besides me'; a just God' and a Saviour': there is none beside me. Zeph. iii. 5, The just Lord is in the midst thereof; he will not do iniquity': every morning doth he bring his judgment to light', he faileth not'; but the unjust knoweth no shame`. Rev. xv. 3, And they sing the song of Moses', the servant of God', and the song of the Lamb', saying, Great and marvellous' are thy works, Lord God Almighty`; just and true' are thy ways', thou King

of saints'.

6. Merciful and Good.-Exod. xxxiv. 6, 7, And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed', The Lord', the Lord God', merciful' and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness' and truth, keeping mercy for thousands`, forgiving iniquity, and

transgression, and sin`, and that will by no means/ clear the guilty`. Ps. xxxiii. 5, He loveth righteousness' and judgment`: the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord'. Ps. lxxxvi. 5, 15, Thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive'; and plenteous in mercy' unto all them that call upon thee. Thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion', and gracious`; long-suffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth`. Ps. cviii. 4, Thy mercy is great above the heavens', and thy truth' reacheth unto the clouds. cxxxvi. 1, O give thanks unto the Lord', for he is good` : for his mercy endureth for ever`. Lam. iii. 22, 23, It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not`. They are new' every morning`; great' is thy faithfulness`. Joel ii. 13, Rend your heart and not your garments', and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness', and repenteth him of the evil. Micah vii. 18. Who is a God like unto thee', that pardoneth iniquity', and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of his heritage'? he retaineth not his anger for ever', because he delighteth in mercy. 2 Cor. i. 3, Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father' of mercies, and the God' of all comfort. Eph. ii. 4, 5, But God', who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he hath loved us, even when we were dead in sins', hath quickened us together with Christ`; (by grace ye are saved.)

7. Faithful and True.-Ps. c. 5, The Lord' is good; his mercy is everlasting`: and his truth' endureth to all generations`. Ps. cxvii. 2, For his merciful kindness' is great towards us': and the truth of the Lord' endureth for ever`. Praise ye the Lord'. Ps. cxlvi. 6, Which made heaven' and earth, the sea and all that therein is`; which keepeth truth' for ever. 2 Tim. ii. 13, If we believe not', yet he abideth faithful`; he cannot deny himself'. Tit. 1, 2, In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie', promised before the world began. Heb. vi. 18, That by two immutable things', in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation`, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us'.

8. Holy. Exod. xv. 11, Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee', glorious in holiness, fearful in praises', doing wonders`? Lev. xix. 2, Speak unto all the congregation of the children of Israel', and say unto them, Ye shall be holy for I the Lord' your God' am holy. 1 Sam. ii. 2, There is none holy as the Lord': for there is none besides thee; neither is there any rock' like our God'. Ps. xcix. 9, Exalt the Lord' our God', and worship at his holy hill`: for the Lord' our God' is holy. Isa. vi. 3, And one cried unto another', and said, Holy, holy, holy', is the Lord of hosts'; the whole earth' is full of his glory'. Hab. i. 13, Thou art of purer eyes than to behold evil', and canst not look on iniquity. 1 Pet. i. 15, 16, But as he which

hath called you is holy', so be ye holy in all manner of conversation'`: because it is written', Be ye holy'; for I am holy. Rev, xv. 4, Who shall not fear thee, O Lord', and glorify thy name? for thou only' art holy.

9. God knoweth all things.—1 Kings viii. 39, Hear thou in heaven thy dwelling-place`, and forgive', and do', and give to every man according to his ways', whose heart thou knowest; (for thou, even thou only, knowest the hearts of all the children of men`.) Job xxxvii. 16, Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wonderous works of him who is perfect in knowledge/? Ps. cxxxix. 1-4, O Lord, thou hast searched me and known me`. Thou knowest my down-sitting' and mine up-rising`; thou understandest my thought afar off". Thou com passest my path', and my lying down', and art acquainted with all my ways. For there is not a word in my tongue', but, lo, O Lord, thou knowest it altogether. Ezek. xi. 5, And the Spirit of the Lord fell upon me, and said unto me', Speak; Thus saith the Lord', Thus have ye said, O house of Israel: for I know the things that come into your mind', every one of them. Dan. ii. 22, He revealeth the deep and secret' things: he knoweth what is in the darkness', and the light dwelleth with him. 1 John iii. 20, If our heart condemn us', God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things`.
