more and more for thine everlasting kingdom. We ask all, through the worthiness of thy Son Jesus Amen.

Christ our Lord.

Our Father, &c.

Tuesday Morning.

ISAIAH Xxviii. 16.—Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner-stone, a sure foundation. (1 PETER ii. 6.)—He that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

ISAIAH XlV. 22.-Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth.

MARK ix. 23. If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.

JOHN i. 12-As many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.

JOHN iii. 16.-God so loved the world, that he gave his only-begotten Son, that whosoever believeth on him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

JER. XXXI. 33.-This shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

MALACHI iii. 6.-For I am the Lord, I change not; there fore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.

EPH. ii. 10.—We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained, that we should walk in them.

2 COR. iii. 5.-Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.

2 THESS. ii. 13.-We are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation, through sanctifi cation of the Spirit and belief of the truth.

ALMIGHTY GOD, whose eyes run to and fro throughout the earth, and whose providence is always engaged in behalf of those who fear thee, we adore and magnify thee, as the source of all our hopes and privileges.

Thou, O Lord, preservest to us our life and health, our food and raiment, our friends and benefactors. From thee proceed our private and public blessings, the means of grace, and the hope of glory. Not for our goodness dost thou continue to bless us from day to day, and permit us to come into thy presence, but because thou delightest in mercy; and because thou lookest upon the sacrifice of thy beloved Son, who gave himself a ransom for our souls. Grant that the multitude of thy mercies in Christ Jesus may ever triumph over the multitude of our sins; and that our supplications and praises, may, through his precious blood-shedding, daily enter with acceptance into thy ears.

In his all-prevailing name we beseech thee to look down upon us in compassion this morning. Let thy thoughts towards us be thoughts of peace, and not of evil. As thou hast kept us from the terror by night, and from the pestilence that walketh in darkness, so may it please thee to save us from the arrow that flieth by day, and from the destruction that wasteth at noon. Especially save us from those who lie in wait for our souls: and graciously hear us, that those evils which the craft and subtlety of the devil, or man, worketh against us, may, by

thy good providence, be brought to nought, that we, thy servants, being hurt by no persecutions, may evermore give thanks unto thee, and praise thy holy name.

Enable us to pass this day, and all our days, in thy faith and fear. Preserve us, that our minds be not overcharged with the cares, or with the pleasures of this life. Make us humble in prosperity; and patient and thankful in the time of adversity. Suffer us not to be occupied in ungodly works, with men that work wickedness. But give us grace to set our face as a rock against sin, and vanity, and every appearance of evil; and let not our hearts be inclined to any evil thing, but only to that which pleaseth thee.

As thou hast showed us, O Lord, what is good, and what thou requirest of us, help us to obey thy commandment, to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thee, our God. May we always remember thy presence, and live in fear of thy awful judgment. Vouchsafe, we beseech thee, continually to direct, sanctify, and govern, both our hearts and bodies, in the ways of thy laws, and in the works of thy commandments; that through thy most mighty protection, we may be preserved in body and soul.

[Here may be used any appropriate Collect.]

O thou Father of all, and Lord of heaven and earth, give thy blessing to all nations; especially

to that in which thou hast cast our lot. Be thou our God, and may we be thy people; that all the world may know that thou art our defender and Almighty benefactor. Defend thy Church universal. Bless the congregation to which we belong, and the families with whom we are more immediately connected. Deliver the helpless and oppressed, and sanctify the trials of all thy afflicted ones. We further pray thee to shed thy guidance and blessing upon this family. Increase our love to thee, and to each other: and make it our delight to meet before thy throne, to offer up our prayers and praises, through Jesus Christ, our only Mediator and Advocate. Amen.

Our Father, &c.

Tuesday Noon.

[Or, with a Collect, for the Morning or Evening.]

ROMANS Viii. 1.-There is now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

2. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

EZEK. Xxxvi. 26.-A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you; and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh. And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.
