Lastly, we beseech thee to give unto our relations and friends, and to all others for whom we wish more especially to pray, that godliness which is profitable unto all things; having the promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. These mercies for them, for us, and for all mankind, we humbly beg in the name, and through the mediation of Jesus Christ, our most blessed Lord and Saviour. Amen.

ROMANS xii. 14.-Bless them which persecute you; bless, and curse not. Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not your selves; but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore, if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

1 COR. xiii. 4.-Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself; is not puffed up; doth not behave itself unseemly; seeketh not her own; is not easily provoked; thinketh no evil; rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; beareth all things; believeth all things; hopeth all things; endureth all things.

MARK XI. 25.-When ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have aught against any; that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.

26-But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.

COL. iii. 12.-Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering.

13. Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any; even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.

14.—And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

O LORD, our gracious God, our chief good, and most merciful Father in Jesus Christ; in whose great name, and prevailing mediation alone, we, who have multiplied our offences against thee, are permitted to present our persons, and our prayers before thee; deliver us, gracious Lord, from all our transgressions, for which our hearts condemn us and from all, which we may have forgotten, but of which thou, that art greater than our hearts, knowest us to be guilty. And seal to us a full pardon, in his most precious blood, which speaks better things in our behalf, than we are able to do ourselves in all our prayers.

And may the time past of our lives suffice to

have lived to ourselves, and to have served our own lusts and pleasures. O put an end to all our presumptuous and treacherous dealings with thy all-seeing Majesty. Grant us new and clean, humble and contrite hearts, to tremble at thy word and presence, and to hate and abandon all our sinful misdoings. Wilt thou engage to thyself, blessed Lord, the most frequent thoughts of our minds, the choicest affections of our hearts, and the main tendency and activity of our souls. O let us experience such content and delight in serving thee, and in communion with thee, that the most alluring things of this world may not tempt us to love them immoderately. Grant, O God, that nothing that we now suffer, or hope, or fear, may hinder us in pursuing what our faith forsees, and what thy love has prepared for thy servants.

Hear us, O Lord, for ourselves, and let our supplications also ascend before thee in behalf of all men living. Send thy word, and the means of grace, to such as are yet destitute of them; and make them efficacious, and the savour of life, in those that do enjoy them. Convert the unconverted, and perfect thy good work where thou hast begun it. Give a check to all profaneness, vice, and ungodliness, that presumptuous sinners may be ashamed, and the devices of the wicked may come to an end. O make thy Church to increase and flourish, and thy servants to prevail and rejoice. Be gracious and favorable to this land, and to the

head and governors thereof. Oh do thou guide and counsel all our rulers, and order public affairs, to the glory of thy name, and to the welfare and happiness of the nation. Regard with compassion all the sons and daughters of affliction. Sanctify thy fatherly corrections to them, and support them under their several burdens. Be good to all our friends and neighbors, reward our benefactors, bless our relations with the best of thy blessings, making them near to thyself by grace, as they are to us by alliance. Preserve us from our enemies, and reconcile them both to us and to thyself. Grant that all the habitations of Christians may be houses of prayer, and be thou especially gracious to the several families where thy name is called upon. Let thy heavenly blessings, and thy saving grace, descend and rest upon us in this family. O guide us, and keep us; make us wise and faithful in our duty, and prosperous and blessed in the issue; root out unholy passions and propensities from our bosoms; and establish in us the dominion of the Lord Jesus Christ. May we daily grow in grace, attaining greater conformity to the spirit of the Gospel, and coming nearer to thy kingdom, O God. Unite our hearts to thee, and to each other. Bless our present estates to us, and fit us for whatsoever thou shalt be pleased to call us to. Teach us how to want and how to abound; and both in a prosperous and suffering condition, secure our hearts to thyself, and make us ever to approve ourselves faithful in thy service.

And now, O Lord, be pleased to accept our sacrifice of praise and thanksgiving, to thee the Father of mercies, for thy great goodness, that has followed us all the days of our life. Our lives have been filled with the expressions of thy love; and thou hast abounded towards us in a variety of blessings, pertaining to this world, and a better; passing by our innumerable sins, as if thou sawest them not, thou goest on still to oblige us with new favors. O Lord, imprint and preserve upon our hearts a grateful sense of all thy kindness unto us; that our souls may bless thee, and that all that is within us may praise thy holy name. We ask and offer all only in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Our Father, &c.

JER. XXXI. 33.-This shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

EPH. ii. 10.-We are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

2 COR. iii. 5.-Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.
