In their place has come an alarming frequency of cases of acute and chronic phthisis, seeming to have their origin from the debility remaining after recurrent attacks of sub-acute inflammations of both gastric and bronchial mucous membranes-pathological conditions much more frequently noticed since 1864.

THE BEST TONIC,

Caswell, Mack & Co's Ferro-Phosphorated Elixir of Calisaya Bark.

This combination of the three best tonics of the Pharmacopoeia-IRON, PHOSPHOROUS and CALISAYA-We were the first to prepare and bring to the attention of the profession. So well was it received, that a large number of imitations, made of inferior materials, unskillfully prepared, have been introduced and dispensed, the physician supposing and intending our own preparation should be given. The subsequent failure of any desirable effect thereby, as tended to cast discredit upon the geruine.

In prescribing this combination, physicians who desire an article upon which they can rely as containing in each pint the virtues of one ounce of Calisaya Bark, and in each teaspoonful one grain of Phosphorous and Iron, all skillfully blended into a transparent, palatable cordial, may thoroughly rely upon our Elixir.

The IRON restores color to the blood; the PHOSPHOROUS renews waste of the nerve tissues, and the CALISAYA gives a natural health ful tone to the digestive organs. Sole manufacturers, CASWELL, HAZARD & CO., .
