WASHINGTON, March 17, 1843. DEAR SIR: I promised Mr. Peters, the late reporter, some weeks past, to furnish him with a correction of the errors that had occurred in printing the opinions of the Supreme Court, (U. S.,) written by me. I have, with the aid of the clerk, compared the printed opinions in the 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th and 16th volumes of Peters' Reports with the original ones, in manuscript, and of file, and detected many errors; and as they cannot be corrected in Mr. Peters' reports until a second edition is published, and this may not occur for many years, my desire is, that you publish the errata in your first volume, so as to preserve my own corrections. With sincere regard, J. CATRON. To B. C. HOWARD, Esq., Reporter S. C. U. S.
