The number of miles of railway in the State June 30, 1885, was 4,226 42, as against 3,908.98 miles last June. The average cost per mile of railway operated in the State to June 30, 1885, was $34,769.56. The stock of all railways operated in the State to June 30, 1885, was $304,822,453.62. The debt of all railways operated in the State to June 30, 1885, was $368,264,435.32. Minnesota's proportion of said stock and debt is $169,552,896.35. The passenger earnings of all lines operated in the State to June 30, 1885, were $18,291,679.34. The passenger earnings in Minnesota for year ending June 30, 1885, were $4,895,282.05. The freight earnings of all lines operated in the State to June 30, 1885, were $53,901,569.39. |
