Write a letter to me this week, saying that you Where will you procure it? are going to preach Christ; you shall have sympathy from me and prayer—besides, I want your name. It is not fair on us who are ever seeking to draw you to the Lord's side, not to let us know when you come, and we want to know all about you if we can. When we stand over you there, one after the other, do you think it makes no difference whether we know you or do not know you? When we know your names, age, and, still better, your lives, how many thankful memories and trustful hopes, think you, crowd into one brief moment, while we say, "The body, the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ which was given for thee, preserve thy body and soul into everlasting life." But you must not be leaning on men. You are going to preach Christ. How? As a dead saint? No; as the risen Saviour, the living God-a power to men. Then, never fear, He will be a power to you. You will begin preaching Christ, and find Christ preaching in you. He may not give you eloquence, ingenuity, or even good taste, to direct your efforts. He will give to direct your efforts-Himself. Wipe out all I've said, and take only this away with you, to think over. My directions may not be practicable for you, but it is practicable for you to preach Christ, and you must do it.
