The principal objective of the author when writing this book is to offer a book that the students will enjoy to read, at the same time learning concepts of algebra, for which brief sentences, clear explanations and lots of examples full of details are used. Various changes are included in this sixth edition: the topic of addition and subtraction of fractions has been improved, the introduction of solving equations with fractions, and they have added new examples and exercises.

Acerca del autor (2007)

R. Allen Angel received his associate degree (AAS) in Electrical Technology from the Community University of New York. He later graduated in Physics and received a Master's in Mathematics from New Paltz University and took additional post graduate training at Rutgers University. He is a Professor Emeritus at Monroe Community College in Rochester, N.Y., where he worked many years as the Director of the Mathematics Dept. He also distinguished himself as Deputy Director at the National Summer Science Foundation at Rutgers. He was president of the New York State Mathematicians Association (NYSMATYC) and vice president of the Northeast American Mathematicians Association (AMATYC). He has been the recipient of numerous prizes, including several for Excellence in NISOD in teaching. Allen enjoys tennis, traveling the world, and being with his family.
