He immigrated to the United States in 1785 and built Elk Hall in 1803 on his plantation in Buckingham County, Virginia. He married Elizabeth Hooper (1768- 1836) in 1787. They had nine children. Lionel died in 1833. Traces nine generations of descendants. |
