Under the three divisions of the book, The Purpose, The Way, and The Goal, these selections have been arranged. The reader is urged to use them as a basis for his own reflections. We all need to keep the high purpose of the War unstained by any selfish interest; we must make our own characters a straight, white road upon which the flaming presence of God may lead the world to the only goal which can justify the superb sacrifice, a goal upon which are written Freedom and Righteousness and Love.
