The New Testament

The American English Version of the New Testament (AEV) is a word-for-word translation from the Greek, rather than a paraphrase, thought-for-thought, or dynamic equivalent translation. It is written in easy-to-read modern English, but not dumbed down in such a way as to insult the intelligence of adults or to sacrifice doctrinal depth. This book was written for one purpose only-to bring the reader into intimate contact with the undiluted word of God. Americans need the word of God in their mother tongue as much as any remote tribe does, and the AEV addresses this need. Vernon S. Mitchell graduated from the Moody Bible Institute of Chicago, Illinois in 1971 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (Aviation Option) from LeTourneau University of Longview, Texas in 1977. Since then he has worked as an aircraft design engineer for many of the major aircraft companies throughout the United States, contributing to the design of the B-2 stealth bomber, the Boeing 777, the JSF (F-35) fighter, and many other aircraft. He is married and the father of three daughters. He hopes one day to be able to devote himself full-time to the writing of books that will help to make the truths of the Bible more accessible.
