ANIMAL STORIES A WISE HORSE This is a true story about a horse named Solomon. His master named him Solomon because he was so wise. One day a blacksmith put a new shoe upon one of Solomon's feet. A few days after this, Solomon was turned into a field to graze. A boy soon came running to tell the master that some one had stolen the horse. "Why do you think so?" asked the master. "The gate has been taken down and left on the ground, and the horse is gone," said the boy. "Perhaps old Sol did it himself," answered the master. "If we can find the print of his teeth on the gate, we shall know that he let himself out." So they went to look at the gate. There on the top of it was the print of the horse's teeth! |
