county, devised to them by the late Elias Boudinot, free from all liability of the trust contained in said devise, and the proceeds of such sale shall be appropriated, under the authority of the said mayor, aldermen and citizens, in the manner and for the uses intended by the devisor.

WHEREAS, George Aston, late of the county of Philadelphia, died in the year one thousand eight hundred and fourteen, having first made his last will and testament in writing, bearing date the eighth day of July, one thousand eight hundred and thirteen, whereby (inter alia) he bequeathed the free use, occupation, rents, profits and income, of a certain plantation or tract of land, situated in Blockley township, in said county, called Woodside, together with the capital, messuage, and other buildings and improvements thereon, to his niece, Ann Warder, ju nior, wife of Jeremiah Warder, and her assigns, for her sole and separate use during her natural life, and from and after the decease of the said Ann Warder, junior, he bequeathed the said plantation, with the buildings and improvements, to all and every of the children of the said Ann Warder, junior, who should be living at her death, their heirs and assigns forever, with a proviso, that if all and every the children of the said Ann Warder, junior, should die under age, and without issue, then, after the death of the said Ann Warder, junior, he bequeathed the said plantation to his nephew, George Aston, ju nior, and the children of his sister, Mary Madeira, their heirs and assigns forever: AND WHEREAS, It has been represented to the legislature, that the interest of the present holders of the said property, and of those in remainder, will be promoted by an authority to sell the same or portions thereof, and to reinvest the proceeds of such sales on the same trusts: Therefore,

SECTION 12. George Vaux and Benjamin Head Warder, of the city of Philadelphia, and the survivor of them, are hereby authorized to sell and dispose of, at public or private sale, all or any part or portion of said plantation or tract of land, called Woodside, with the buildings and improvements thereon, and to make good and sufficient conveyance for the said plantation, or so much thereof as may be sold, to the purchaser or purcha sers thereof, in fee simple or for less estate: Provided, That the whole proceeds arising from such sale or sales, shall be in. vested by the said George Vaux and Benjamin Head Warder, or the survivor of them, in the purchase of other real estate, or in sufficient landed security, or in the public stocks, in the names of the said George Vaux and Benjamin Head Warder, or the survivor of them, and the heirs and assigns of such survivor, in trust, for the purposes mentioned and intended in the will of the said George Aston, and to descend and pass according to the direction of the said will; but it is hereby declared, that this proviso shall not be taken or construed to require, that the purchaser or purchasers of any part or portion of said plan.

SECTION 1. Be it enacted by the Senate and House of Re presentatives of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in General Assembly met, and it is hereby enacted by the authority of the same, That the State Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized and required to pay to John Cosner, of Bucks county, Conrad Fry, of Berks county, and Martin Short, of Allegheny county, soldiers of the revolutionary war, or to their respective orders, forty dollars each immediately, and an annuity of forty dollars. each payable half yearly, to commence on the first day of March, one thousand eight hundred and thirty-four.

SECTION 2. The State Treasurer is hereby authorized and required to pay Thomas Abbott, of Adams county, Gideon Shaw, of Bucks county, and Frederick Bodine, of Lycoming county, or to their respective orders, forty dollars as a gratuity and in full for their revolutionary services.
