The following is a statement of the date of each accident, the place where it occurred, the cause, and the extent of the injuries inflicted upon each person, and the name of such person.

1874.

November 12. Theodore Scott, a conductor, while getting on his car while in motion in Hudson street, fell, and the wheel of the car passed over and broke his leg, which was afterward amputated.

1875.

January 30. Thomas Burns, while grossly intoxicated, attempted to get on the front platform of a car while in motion, near Abingdon Square, fell under the car, receiving injuries from which he died.

February 14. John W. Earl, while riding in a buggy wagon with a woman, the woman driving the horse at a rapid rate on Eighth avenue, near One Hundred and Thirty-fifth street, came in collision with an Eighth avenue car; Mr. Earl was thrown out of the wagon and fell so that his thumb came under one of the wheels of the car and seriously injured it.

April 9. Elizabeth Bogert, while attempting to get on a car while in motion in Canal street, fell and received slight injuries.

July 4. Wallinger Burger, a child about 9 years of age, ran to the front of a car passing Fifty-eighth street, and tried to get on while it was in motion; fell under the car, receiving injuries from which she died.

August 1. James Duffy, a small boy, jumping on and off the cars, near Sixty-third street, and peddling lozenges, while attempting to get on a car, fell, and received injuries from which he died.

The railway and branches of the company are leased to Augustus H. Moore, for a period of ten years from the 22d day of May, 1871, at an annual rental now amounting to $5,874.84, the lessee to furnish all the equipment except five cars.

Owing to the leasing of the road as above, the officers of the company are unable to furnish further statements than are above given.
