125. Payment of bids and certificate of purchase. Every purchaser at any sale of lands by the department of taxation and finance under this article shall pay the amount of his bid into the state treasury within forty-eight hours after the last day of sale. Upon the payment of a bid such department shall give to the purchaser a written certificate, describing the lands purchased, the sum paid and the time when the purchaser will be entitled to a deed. Such certificate shall also contain a statement substantially as follows: The purchaser, if the lands herein described are not redeemed, may, either complete the purchase and take a conveyance of the lands as provided in the tax law, or, at his option, foreclose his lien pursuant to article seven-a of said law.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 50

AN ACT to amend the general business law, in relation to fraudulent practices in respect to stocks, bonds and other securities

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. Chapter twenty-five of the laws of nineteen hundred nine, entitled "An act relating to general business, constituting chapter twenty of the consolidated laws," as amended by chapter six hundred and forty-nine of the laws of nineteen hundred twentyone, is hereby amended by adding a new section at the end of article twenty-three-a thereof, to be section three hundred and fifty-nine-h, to read as follows:

§ 359-h. Destruction of certain records, books and other data by the attorney-general. Any and all books, registers, cards, indices, office records and other documentary evidence seized and held by the department of law under a subpoena or order of the court in proceedings commenced under article twenty-three-a of the general business law, may be destroyed after a period of six years from the date of closing said case on its office records, when no proceeding shall have been instituted to compel the return of such records by the defendants.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.
