Goody Two-Shoes was a good little girl. She had no father or mother.

A kind man and his wife asked her to live with them.

They gave her two shoes.

She jumped up and down, crying

That is how she came to be named Goody

Two-Shoes.

Every one liked Goody Two-Shoes.

She was so good to them.

She liked the children best.

She helped them with their letters.
She cut the letters out of wood.
Then the children named them.

Goody Two-Shoes ran up to Farmer
Wilson's door. Tap, tap!

"Goody Two-Shoes."

Out ran little Billy. "How do," said little Billy.

Goody Two-Shoes put down all her wooden letters like this:

Billy's mother came in. She was pleased.

After that Goody Two-Shoes went to

"Come in," said Sally's mother.

Farmer Cook had three children.

"Bread," said little Tom.

“Spell it,” said she.

B-r-e-a-d, spelled Tom with the letters. "Now, Polly, what did you have?" "Apple pie." Then she spelled it. Now, let us play Goody Two-Shoes. Who will play Billy?
