CHAPTER 44.

An Act to amend The Game Act.

(Assented to April 8, 1926.)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Game Act Amendment Short title Act, 1926."

2. The Game Act, being chapter 70 of the Revised Stat- Section 5 utes of Alberta, 1922, is amended as to section 5 thereof by striking out the word "November" where it occurs in paragraph (e), and substituting therefor the word "December."

3. Section 5a is added to the said Act as follows: "5a. Notwithstanding any of the provisions of Section Change of 4 or Section 5 the Lieutenant Governor may from time to open or close time upon being satisfied that it is proper so to do, fix a Lieutenant close season or an open season other than the seasons fixed in Council in the sections last mentioned in respect of any game mentioned therein, and may provide that the season so fixed shall apply only to such part or parts of the Province as shall be defined in the Order in Council fixing the same."

4. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which coming into it is assented to.

CHAPTER 45.

An Act to amend The Stallion Enrolment Act, 1924.

(Assented to April 8, 1926.)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Stallion Enrolment Act, Short title 1924, Amendment Act, 1926."

2. The Stallion Enrolment Act, 1924, being chapter 23 Section 4 of the Statutes of Alberta, 1924, is amended as to subsection (1) of section 4 thereof, by striking out the words "in form A in the schedule to this Act."

3. Section 5 of the said Act is amended

(a) by adding to subsection (1) thereof the following proviso:

"Provided that any pure bred stallion which has
been inspected and enrolled under the provisions of
The Stallion Enrolment Act, need not be again in-
spected prior to enrolment under this Act; and pro-
vided further, that the Minister may grant an in-
terim certificate in form A of the schedule hereto,
without examination if the circumstances of the case
seem to him to warrant such a course";

(b) by striking out subsections (3) and (5) thereof;
(c) by striking out subsection (6) thereof and substi-
tuting therefor the following:

"(6) If it appears upon examination, that the stallion does not suffer from any hereditary defect mentioned in subsection (2) of this section, and is of good type and conformation, the Minister may issue a certificate in form B of the schedule hereto."

4. Section 6 of the said Act is amended by striking out Section 6 subsection (4) thereof.

5. Section 6a is added to the said Act as follows: "6a. Any owner may appeal to the Minister from an adverse decision of an inspector, given under any provision of this Act, and in making any such appeal, he shall deposit with the Minister the sum of twenty-five dollars, which shall be returned to him in case his appeal is sustained."

Coming into force of Act

6. Section 15 of the said Act is hereby struck out and the following substituted therefor:

"15. The fees to be paid to the Department under this Act shall be as follows:

and shall form part of the general revenue fund of the Province."

7. The schedule to the said Act is amended—

(a) as to form A thereof by striking out the word and figure "section 4" and substituting therefor the word and figure "section 5," and by striking out all the words in brackets therein;

(b) as to form B by striking out all the words in brackets therein.

8. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which it is assented to.
