6. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which it is assented to.

CHAPTER 19.

An Act to amend The Medical Profession Act.

(Assented to April 8, 1926.)

HIS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Medical Profession Act Short title Amendment Act, 1926."

2. The Medical Profession Act, being chapter 209 of the Section 70 Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1922, is amended as to section 70 thereof by adding thereto as subsections (2), (3), (4) and (5), the following:

"(2) No person shall advertise or hold himself out to the Specialists public as a specialist or as being specially qualified in any branch of any class or system of practice in this section mentioned, without having received from the Registrar of the University of Alberta a certificate of having complied with such conditions precedent as to qualification or fitness as may be prescribed by the Senate of the said University.

"(3) The said conditions may be based either upon the possession of certain diplomas or other professional qualifications or upon compliance with prescribed tests by way of examination or otherwise.

"(4) Any person committing a breach of subsection (2) of this section shall be liable to the same penalty as if he had committed a breach of subsection (1).

"(5) Any breach of this section shall be deemed to be unbecoming and improper conduct within the meaning of section 45 of this Act."

3. Section 76a is added to the said Act as follows: "76a. Nothing in this Act contained shall apply to or affect those who practise the religious tenets of their church Religious without pretending a knowledge of medicine or surgery, and provided that the laws, rules and regulations relating to contagious diseases and sanitary matters are not violated."

4. This Act shall come into force on the first day of Coming into June, 1926.

CHAPTER 20.

An Act to amend The Dental Association Act.

(Assented to April 8, 1926.)

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta, enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Dental Association Act Short title Amendment Act, 1926."

2. The Dental Association Act, being chapter 204 of the Section 20 Revised Statutes of Alberta, 1922, is amended as to section 20 by striking out the words "registration fee of two dollars" where they occur in the fifth line thereof, and substituting therefor the words "annual fee," and by striking out the words "registration fee" where they occur in the ninth line thereof, and substituting therefor the words "annual fee."

3. Section 28 of the said Act is hereby struck out.
