CHAPTER 29.

An Act to amend The Provincial Loans Act.

(Assented to April 8, 1926.)

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Provincial Loans Act Short title Amendment Act, 1926."

2. The Provincial Loans Act, being chapter 42 of the Re- Section 4 vised Statutes of Alberta, 1922, is amended as to section 4 thereof by adding thereto as subsection (3a) the following:

"(3a) Money in any sinking fund created with respect to any debentures or stock issued under the provisions of this Act, may from time to time be invested in stock, debentures or securities of the Government of the Dominion of Canada or of any of the Provinces of Canada or in any debentures or securities the payment of which is guaranteed by the Government of the Dominion of Canada or of any of the Provinces of Canada, or in debentures of any city, town, village, municipal district, school district or municipal hospital district in the Province."

3. This Act shall come into force on the day upon which Coming into it is assented to.

CHAPTER 30.

An Act to amend The Superannuation Act.

(Assented to April 8, 1926.)

IS MAJESTY, by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Assembly of the Province of Alberta,

enacts as follows:

1. This Act may be cited as "The Superannuation Act Short title Amendment Act, 1926."

2. The Superannuation Act, being chapter 8 of the Re- Sections 25, vised Statutes of Alberta, 1922, is amended by inserting the added following as sections 25, 26, 27 and 28 thereof:

"Compensation

"25. This Act, with the modifications hereinafter set out, Workmen's shall apply to members of the Workmen's Compensation Board Board and persons employed otherwise than temporarily by the said Board, excepting any member of any class of such employees that may be excluded from the operation of this Act by order-in-council, as if such persons were included in the term 'employees.'

"26. In the application of this Act to the said persons the statutory deduction directed by section 5 shall be made by the Workmen's Compensation Board in lieu of the Provincial Treasurer, and a contribution shall be made from the Accident Fund in lieu of the Government contribution spoken of in the Act, and reference to Government contribution shall be deemed to refer to the said Accident Fund contribution. "27. No payments shall be made to any of the said persons out of the special reserve.

"28. In the event of any question arising in applying the provisions of this Act to the said persons, the said question shall be submitted to the Lieutenant Governor in Council, whose decision upon any such question shall be final."
