EXPLOSION ON THE BATTLE SHIP GEORGIA.. Eight officers and men were killed and thirteen charge of the turret at the time, was one of those injured by the accidental explosion of two bags of killed. The cause of the accident was not definitely powder in a turret of the battle ship Georgia during ascertained, but it was thought probable that a target practice off Barnstable in Cape Cod bay, spark was blown back through a gunport and igJuly 15, 1907. Lieut. Casper Goodrich, who was in nited the powder.
