Ten per cent of the gross receipts went to the national commission for expenses and of the remainder 60 per cent to the players and 40 per cent to the club owners. Rochester Of the players' share the winning team took 60 per cent and the losing team 40 per cent.

In 1903 the Boston American league team won the world's championship by defeating the Pittsburg National league club, taking five out of eight games. In 1905 the New York team of the National

The longest baseball game on record was played by nines representing the Pierce and Bennett schools in Boston Saturday, June 8, 1907. Twentyeight innings were required to decide the contest. Pierce winning by a score of 4 to 3.
