The bill was read a first and second time by its title, ordered printed and referred to the Committee on Taxation.

Third Reading of Bills.

The following entitled bill was read a third time:

Senate bill No: 16 (file No. 18) entitled

A bill to authorize the employment of public health nurses by counties.
Pending the taking of the vote on the passage of the bill,

Mr. William L. Case offered the following amendment:

Section 3, line 16, after the word "Provided", strike out the word "further". The amendment was seconded, a majority of the Senators present voting therefor.

The amendment was then considered and agreed to, a majority of all the Senators-elect voting therefor.

Pending the order that, under rule 37, the bill lie over one day,

Mr. William L. Case, moved that the rule be suspended and that the bill be placed on its immediate passage.

The motion prevailed, two-thirds of the Senators present voting therefor. The question then being on the passage of the bill, the roll was called and the Senators voted as follows:

So a majority of all the Senators-elect having voted therefor,

The bill was passed.

The Senate agreed to the title of the bill.

On motion of Mr. William L. Case, two-thirds of all the Senators-elect voting therefor,

The bill was given immediate effect.

The President designated Senator Walter F. Truettner as presiding officer for the remainder of today's session.

Senator Truettner, thereupon, took the chair.

Colonel Augustus H. Gansser, Senator from the Twenty-fourth District, addressed the Senate, paying eloquent tribute to the memory of the martyr President, Abraham Lincoln.

By unanimous consent, the Senate returned to the order of

Messages from the House.

A message was received from the House of Representatives informing the Senate that the House had concurred in the adoption of

Senate concurrent resolution No. 8

A concurrent resolution providing for adjournment of the two Houses of the Legislature from February 13 to February 16, 1925.

Mr. Bernie L. Case moved that when the Senate adjourns today it stand adjourned until tomorrow, Friday, February 13, at 10:00 o'clock a. m.

The motion prevailed.

Accordingly, and in pursuance of the order previously made, the presiding officer declared the Senate adjourned until tomorrow, Friday, February 13, 1925, at 10:00 o'clock a. m.

The Senate met pursuant to adjournment and was called to order by Senator Walter F. Truettner, who had been designated by the President as presiding officer for this day.

The roll of the Senate was called by the Secretary.

Present: Senators Atwood, Bohn, Bernie L. Case, William L. Case, Gansser, Greene, Herrick, Karcher, Martin, Pearson, Truettner.-11; not a quorum.

Mr. Bohn moved that the Senate adjourn.
The motion prevailed.

Accordingly, and in pursuance of the order previously made, the presiding officer declared the Senate adjourned until Monday, February 16, at 8:30 o'clock

p. m.
