A joint resolution for the relief of Fred L. Wait, member of Company F, First Infantry, Michigan National Guard;

Respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have directed me to report the same back to the Senate without amendment and recommend that it do pass, and ask to be discharged from the further consideration of the subject.

Senate bill No. 237 (file No. 132), entitled

A bill to provide for the service of processes, notices and writings upon all corporations owning or operating electric railways in the State of Michigan;

And to inform the Senate that the House has amended the same as follows:

1. By inserting in line 3 of section 1 after the second word "any" the word "interurban."

2. By inserting in line 11 of section 1 after the word "existence" the words "And provided further, That the provisions for service upon conductors of electric railways shall not apply to conductors on electric railways operating within the limits of incorporated cities;"

In the passage of which, as thus amended, the House has concurred by a majority vote of all the members elect.

Senate bill No. 562, entitled

A bill to amend sections 1 and 5 of Act No. 372 of the Local Acts of 1893, entitled "An Act to provide for placing on the retired list on reduced pay members of the metropolitan police force of the City of Detroit, who shall have become disabled or incapacitated while in

active performance of official duty, and members of said force and persons in the employ of the police board of the City of Detroit who after 25 years of faithful continuous service shall have become permanently incapacitated from performing regular or active duty," as amended by Act No. 440 of the Local Acts of 1895, approved May 24, 1895;

And to inform the Senate that the House has amended the same as follows:

By striking out of lines 1 and 2 of page 2 the words "six hundred" and the figures "50" and inserting in lieu thereof respectively the words "four hundred and eight" and the figures "40;"

In the passage of which, as thus amended, the House has concurred by a majority vote of all the members elect, and by a vote of two-thirds of all the members elect has ordered the same to take effect June 1, 1901.
