PROCEEDINGS OF THE SENATE IN EXECUTIVE SESSION.

Lansing, January 10, 1901.

4:05 o'clock p. m.

The sergeant-at-arms announced that the Senate Chamber had been prepared for the Executive Session.

The Senate took up the order of

REPORTS OF STANDING COMMITTEES.

By the Committee on Executive Business:

The Committee on Executive Business, to whom was referred the following nomination to office by the Governor:

George H. Brown, of Port Huron, St. Clair county, to the office of Adjutant General, for the term of two years, from and after the first day of January, 1901;

Respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have directed me to report the same back to the Senate, with the recommendation that the Senate advise and consent to the said nomination to office.

The report was accepted.

The Senate then advised and consented to the foregoing nomination to office, by yeas and nays, as follows:

By the Committee on Executive Business: The Committee on Executive Business, to whom was referred the fol lowing nomination to office by the Governor:

J. H. Kidd, of Ionia, Ionia county, to the office of Quartermaster General, for the term of two years, from and after the first day of January, 1901;

Respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have directed me to report the same back to the Senate, with the recommendation that the Senate advise and consent to the said nomination to office.

The report was accepted.

Fred W. Green, of Ypsilanti, Washtenaw county, to the office of Inspector General, for the term of two years from and after the first day of January, 1901;

Respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have directed me to report the same back to the Senate, with the recommendation that the Senate advise and consent to the said nomination to office.

Chase S. Osborn, of Sault Ste. Marie, Chippewa county, as Commissioner of Railroads, for the term of two years from and after the first day of January, 1901;

Respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have directed me to report the same back to the Senate, with the recommendation that the Senate advise and consent to the said nomination to office.

Barry, of Lansing, Ingham county, to the office of Commis sioner of Insurance, to fill the unexpired term ending July 1, 1901; Respectfully report that they have had the same under consideration, and have directed me to report the same back to the Senate, with the recommendation that the Senate advise and consent to the said nomination to office.
