JOURNAL OF THE HOUSE

NUMBER SIXTY-ONE.

Lansing, Thursday, April 12, 1923. 2:00 o'clock p. m.

The House was called to order by the Speaker.

Rev. F. D. McDonald, of the African Methodist Episcopal Church of Lansing, offered the invocation:

"O Lord, Our Lord, how excellent is Thy Name. When we think of Thy goodness we exclaim with the Psalmist David, 'What is man that Thou art mindful of him, and the Son of Man, that Thou visiteth him?' Thy goodness reaches even unto the clouds. Help us to recognize our utter dependence upon Thee. May we realize that we are secure in Thee. For every thought, every word we say, every act that we perform, we are accountable unto Thee. Bless this body that is here assembled. We pray, Our Heavenly Father, that Thou wouldst help them to enact such laws that will bring about the greatest good to the greatest number of people. Make us faithful to Thee, and when we are finished with the work that Thou hast given us to do, accept us unto Thyself. These blessings we ask in Jesus' Name. Amen."
